News: Community Season 3 Promo released!

Take a look at the first new trailer for Community season 3 below. We know already that it will feature John Goodman (who features in the clip) in a recurring guest role (as Vice Dean Laybourne), as well as Martin Starr and Michael Kenneth Williams.

And it's clear Goodman is being used as a large selling point this season... you can see him cut Dean Pelton down to size in the clip.

And yes, that's a very dishevelled-looking Joel McHale pictured above (and seen in the clip)...

Community returns on September 22.

News: The Office: Season 8 Episode 1 Title, Plot Revealed + Trailer

When the appointment of James Spader to "replace" Steve Carrell was announced, it certainly raised a few eyebrows, but after seeing how the show will handle the new addition to the cast, it could well be the best thing that has happened to the show since the addition of Ed Helms as Andy in Season 3.

Here's what we know:

  • "Robert California" is expected to appear in 15 episodes (much more than the previous CEO played by Kathy Bates did).
  • He is appointed CEO
  • He is a persuasive, mysterious and "enigmatic"character
And today, EW has revealed a number of story lines that will hopefully jumpstart the series, as well as establish Spader's character as one to watch.

EW calls the premiere episode's synopsis, entitled "The List", "simple" and "brilliant", and it's hard to disagree:

Spader’s persuasive and mysterious character Robert California is appointed CEO of Dunder Mifflin and, during a visit to the Scranton branch, accidentally leaves behind a piece of paper. There’s a line down the middle of it, with the names of every Scranton staffer either on one side of the line or the other. Employees go into a frenzy trying to figure out: What does this mean?... (It) will showcase California’s inscrutable oddness and his impact on the rest of the team as they struggle to figure him out.
Showrunner Paul Lieberstein also hints at other story lines which will surface in season eight:

California challenges the office manager to double sales. Dwight builds a productivity machine that becomes a sort of Doomsday device when it threatens to shut down the company if people make too many mistakes. The entire warehouse staff wins the Lotto and quits. And, of course, there’s Jim and Pam’s second baby.
He also has a dig at last season's criticised "The Delivery" in which Pam gave birth to her and Jim's first child: “We’re not doing what we did last time; we’re not doing any weird rush to the hospital,” before he revealed what her second delivery will constitute:

“We’re doing something fun with her hormones, [which] are in a state where she doesn’t know who to trust. After a scene of everybody being very polite to her, saying she’s more beautiful than ever, and ‘the old and the pregnant are the most beautiful,’ Dwight is the only one honest with her. She starts to think Dwight is the only one she can trust.”

And remember, they still have to decide who the new boss will be...

The Office season 8 premieres September 22 on NBC.

News: Latest Dexter Season 6 Trailer + Analysis

Here is the newest promo for Season 6 of Dexter set to Marilyn Manson's "Personal Jesus".

This one is certainly the longest and most comprehensive trailer we have seen so far.

It also features guest stars Mos Def, Colin Hanks, Brea Grant and Edward James Olmos, though there are not many more clues as to how they will relate to Dexter, apart from the fact that there is some sort of religion-based plot afoot.

Among the many snippets of scenes we get to see, there will be many that will get fans very excited: Dexter seems to have a lot of people back on his table this season, the first of which seems to be a guy who has killed his wife... and has a tattoo of Jesus.

At 0:44 we also see that Dexter has been shot.

There are also some more cryptic images, such as various shots of statues of Jesus, as well as one of what looks to be a blood-soaked hand.
And what is this symbol?

And whose hand is this running over Dexter's slides at 1:42?

And will Dexter be receiving even more female attention this season?

At the very least, Masuka might be, with Brea Grant playing his "intern" this season- she has been described as his "perfect match".

Here they are taking what looks to be a severed hand out of a box.

And here's Mos Def, playing a " hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence. Michael C. Hall’s Dexter will reveal the truth of who he really is." (Hollywood Reporter)
And Colin Hanks as an artefacts expert - he will be Dexter's main nemesis this season (but there will not be a "big bad" this season).

And finally, Edward James Olmos as an enlightened religious studies professor.

It also features the tagline: "This Season He'll Make You A Believer".

Dexter Season 6 Premieres October 2 on Showtime.

Did you notice anything else in this trailer? How do you think all the guest star characters will fit in to the overall arc of the season?

Analysis: Some Breaking Bad S4 Questions

Breaking Bad is in that rare position that most shows never find themselves in.

It has built itself up for three multi-layered, multi-faceted seasons. All episodes are plot-heavy, character-driven masterpieces in their own way.

News: "Life's Too Short" Teaser Trailer Released (New Gervais Sitcom)

Here's the teaser trailer for the latest Ricky Gervais/Stephen Merchant project entitled Life's Too Short.

Of course, as the series is still being filmed, there is no actual footage of the show, however you do get to see series star Warwick Davis along with the two comic geniuses in Gervais and Merchant.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyrOr24hdEY&w=560&h=349]
The show itself tells the story of Warwick Davis, a short statured man who runs a talent agency for other short statured actors... Which he also does in real life.

Gervais and Merchant will also play themselves in the show, which will again be in a similar "mockumentary" style to the one pioneered in The Office.

Interestingly, in this trailer Gervais describes it as a cross between Extras and The Office.

Notable guest stars in the series will include Johnny Depp, as well as Cat Deeley in a recurring role.

PREMIERES Wednesday 11th May, 9PM ABC1

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS30W6FK89w&w=640&h=390]

Chris Lilley's latest comedy, in which he plays the five central characters, of which Nathan and Daniel Sims are the focus- as Daniel aims to prepare a going-away party for Nathan.

Chris Lilley -

Daniel and Nathan Sims

Ruth 'Gran' Sims

Japanese mother Jen Okazaki

Blake Oakfield

S.mOUSE

There will be 12 episodes on Angry Boys, each 30 minutes long.

The ratings for the premiere in Australia will be predicted to be around 1.6 million (the premiere for Summer Heights High rated around the same). But due to its timeslot being half an hour earlier, it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect 1.7 million, given its broader appeal.

Generally very good, with Lilley's excellent track-record generating a lot of anticipation. A bit was made over the considerable presence of the word "f-ggot", as well as Lilley apparently donning a black-face getup to play the role of rapper. S.mOUSE, which we all know got Hey Hey it's Saturday in trouble in 2009. Time will tell whether it creates a bigger furore, though.
